I've got an Epson 1640 scanner with the sheet feed option. At the
moment I can only make it scan each page into a single document. I
want to be able to put a number of pages in the sheet feeder and scan
them in as a single document with multiple pages. Anyone got any
ideas how I can do this? Cheers.

If you are simply scanning them as images there is probably no way to do
that. The main problem is that the common image formats (TIFF, JPG, etc.)
aren't page oriented, they are simply, well, images.

I can think of two things you can do. If these are mainly text pages you
can use text recognition software such as textbridge which will build
multi-page documents from scanned pages. If they include a significant
amount of graphics, you are probably better off with Adobe Acrobat.

Hi Richard,

I own the Epson 3170 with the sheet feeder option. Can't you choose multi
page TIFF file format as target? I'm not sure, but as I remember you can
choose that in the Epson scan software.

You can use Adobe Acrobat to do this, or Windows Imaging, which will give
you a multi-page TIFF file.
