Can anyone kindly describe how to find and actuate the mechanism that
frees the printer heads on the 1520 which allows one to slide said printer
heads
away from their locked off position in order to clean the foam docking pads
which rest beneath?
I've checked the web and groups on this question without success.
Any details involving the shape, color and location of the release latch and
the manner in which it should be released will be appreciated.

Thank you,

Ed

I just set a head cleaning in motion and pull the plug while it's away
from it's parked position.

Power on, open cover (or whatever is needed to make the head move off the
home position then remove power.

OK, so there might well be a "proper" way to do it, but my way works ;-)

Can't you turn off the juice to the printer(as I do) when the print head
is not covering the pads(after the cleaning cycle)? Switch it off on the
wall or surge suppressor strip, not the printer. If you turn it off on the
printer, the head will park over the pads before it stops.
