I have a 1200 photo printer, and the ink cartridge was in there so long
without use that it dried up. Unfortunatly the button to remove the print
cartridge is the same one to clean the heads, and since it's not empty, it
wont go into position to let me remove it, instead it just does a clean
every time. Anyone know a way around this?

don't know if this will help...

use to have a 640 and there is only one position for replacement, and there
isn't any button to move it to that position unless the system detects that
the ink is out.

so this is what i did... every time you turn on the power, the head will
move back and forth to do some calibration. So just wait till the head is
over the refill position and turn of the mains. works all the time =)

you may wanna give it a try.

You hold down the middle paper feed button until you hear it start to move.
Don't just tap it or all you will get is a cleaning cycle. On those
printers once you take a cartridge out it looses track of the remaining ink.
The light won't come on.

You had to hold down the middle paper feed button for 3 seconds until you
heard it start to move. There has always been a way to get the cart. out of
an Epson without pulling the plug.
