Friend just acquired an Epsom C42 printer but can't change the ink
cartridges because he can't get at them - they disappear to the right behind
the printer cover.
How does he have the printer locate the cartridge carriage so he can access
and replace the cartridges?
Thanks.

Have you tried looking in the manual? You can download one online. There
is usually a button that you push that will park the cartridges in the
middle. I am not familiar with that model to tell you.

There is a switch/stick-out inside the printer, you can find it under the
cartridge-container(printer head) or at the back of the cartridge-container,
the positions are different in different model, please take look around the
cartridge-container, where it sits when the power is off. Normally it is in
white.

Procedure:
- Turn off the printer.
- Find the switch, push it to one side - if it is under the container, or
push it backwards - if it is at the back side of the container. But do it
CAREFULLY.
- Pull the container outwards.
- Then, you can reach the cartridges.

Hope the input helps.

Answer is on page 27 of the owners manual. Press and hold the maintenance
button, the one with the ink droplet for 10 seconds. If both cartridges
need to be changed it will move to the black position first.

Excellent. TVM.
