Envelopes in Word 2007

When I try to import an address form Outlook contacts into a Word document to
address an envelope word shuts down then restarts. I use windows 7 and office
2007. my brother has the same problem with his system running windows vista
with office 2007
 
This is a common problem, but it should not occur if you have Outlook open
first.
