I have an HP 300 series all in 1 printer on an XP computer. I just
printed envelopes today for the first time and
it only prints every other envelope beginning with the first not
printed. How can I fix this?

1. Change the paper size and orientation setting in the driver dialog.
If you're using the regular paper feeder rather than a special one,
feeding them lengthwise (landscape) seems's to work better than
widthwise as it gives the printer a bit more to hang onto while
printing.

2. Change the paper thickness. Envelopes are a bit thicker than
regular paper. On my canon, I find I have to shift the paper
thickness over to the thick setting to get a reliable feed if I'm
doing automated envelope printing. Otherwise, it just ends up
grabbing multiples.

3. If you can reach them, wipe the rollers with a rubber conditioner.
That will improve grip through the paper path. If the printer's over
5 years old, ideally you'd replace the rubber parts, but that's not
always possible.

4. If you're using a specialized feeder (I'm not really up on HP model
numbers, but I know they offer a special envelope tray for some
models), pull it off and reinstall it. Sometimes having it even
slightly ajar screws it up.

5. Assuming you're using a word processor rather than some specialized
program, check to see that the document is one page (ie. the
envelope). Sometimes if you smack enter too many times, you'll end
up creating a blank second page. That can result in every second one
being blank.

As it's been a while since I had an HP printer, I can't really give
you anything more specific than that.

Thanks for RE,
I don't think that is the problem. I don't think I made my question
clear. The printer picks
up the envelope good, 1 at a time and sends it through the printer just
like it should. The
problem is that only every other one is printed

I am using Microsoft Word and I will double check all the settings.
Thanks,
L.D.
