Envelope Icon Not Changing Once Read

The envelope icon within Outlook 2002 is not changing once
the message has been read. It is not all the read
messages, just the ones that come from the RightFax Email
Gateway. Any ideas what may be going on?
 
It is an incoming message with an attachment into the
InBox. All of the items are marked as read except from
this one particular sender - Rightfax Email Gateway
 
That is correct. Message in the Inbox with an
attachment. The envelope never reflects Marked as Read
just on this particular sender. Puzzling isn't it?
 
I mean message class as in PR_MESSAGE_CLASS Extended MAPI property or
MailItem.MessageClass in the Outlook Object Model.

Since this is an Outlook VBA newsgroup, I assumed that you had a development
question.
Look at that message either with MdbView (see the Exchange Server CD) or
OutlookSpy (URL below, click the IMessage button).
What is the value of the PR_MESSAGE_CLASS property? I strongly suspect that
is "IPM" rather than "IPM.Note" for the regular messages.
