Looking for freeware that addresses envelopes utilizing an ink jet printer.
The utility that comes with MS Word is for the birds..addresses one envelope
at a time. (The address must be typed in over and over for multiple
envelopes.) Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

I have been using Envelope3.1, from Distant Markets in Alberta, Canada. I don't
have their URL. It has a database of saved addresses, good flexibility in
envelope size, and the ability to add graphics.

I've had no luck finding this. Could you upload it to YouSendIt so those
of us who are interested can download a copy?

I don't know how to use YouSendIt, and I'm mystified by the lack of an e-mail
address to send it to. Sorry for the incompetence.
Send me your true address and I'll send a copy directly to you.
I think I got it as part of a package from Ziff Davis.

My fault for forgetting the how-to. :(

Send it to *yourself* and then post the URL for the download here (the
web page will show you what it is - they'll also send you an email).

If you do it that way anyone in ACF who wants it can download the app. :)

If that method is a problem remove whoi from my email addie to unmung it.

TIA :)

Susan: I saw the YouSendIt site mentioned above, and had a look at it out of
curiosity. I cannot see how a program can be sent unless you know the e-mail
address of the recipient, in which case why not send it direct. What is the
point of sending it to yourself? Indeed, on the "Why YouSendIt" page it says
<quote> Your data goes to who you want it to and nobody else.</quote>. How
then can "anyone in ACF who wants it can download the app" do so. I think
I'm missing something here.

Yousendit does not actually email the file to the recipient. They put
the file on their web server, and send an email with a *link* to that
file to the recipient.

If you specify yourself as the recipient, that email comes to you. You
copy and paste that link to a message here on ACF, or you can email it
to someone else, or whatever. Whoever knows that link (web address)
can then download the file.

Yousendit keeps the file on their server for a few days, then
automatically delete it, making the link to it useless at that point.

It's a bad workman who blames his tools, I was always told!

learn how to do mail merge - works a treat, particularly if you use
the labelling side.

Send the program to this address: (e-mail address removed) which is my
newsgroup throwaway e-mail.

I will post the You send it link.

Thanks Terry, good explanation. I don't remember who suggested using
YouSendIt for files but IMO they deserve ACF's "Super Hero Award". :)

Hello Susan,

That's cooperation for you!
Anyway, very happy to see that this group is settling down again.
I have to say (er?) .....I am very happy to say..I believe everyone is
now coming to terms with the fact that you have given this group a
reason to keep up with help, effort and co-operation towards acheiving
friendliness, helpfulness, information and, a better understanding!
No apologies from me for this...just plain simple honestly meant
gratefulness for your dedication. Thankyou Susan...and others.

Allen.
