Howdy

MS Word 2000 on Win XP Pro

Many times people email me word documents that contain for example a
employment application....they say fill out the application and email back

Everytime I try to type on the application in a space provided...say a on a
line for my name......the line moves and it screws up the form

Is there any way to enter text on a word document that someone sends you?
I've tried opening the document in word, the body of new email, wordpad,
notepad, publisher and the same thing happens?

I know I can print out the form and fill it out and then rescan and email
back but I want to type in the application it looks better....thank

mick

My philosophy about this is that if they don't know how to construct a
document to be properly filled out online, that is their problem, not yours.
You would be perfectly justified in filling it in as is and sending the mess
back to them to sort out. If you want to provide an unpaid service (as I
often do <sigh>), you can clean this up by converting it to a protected form
(using form fields), or at least converting it to a table with selected
borders, or by using some of the other line tricks described in
