Entering superscript

[New to Excell]

How do I enter a superscript in the cell? For instance,
if I wanted to enter "The answer will be x2" how would I
make the 2 superscript?

When I enter the text, then select the two and try to
format it to superscript it will not work.

Works for me.

Enter the text.

Select the 2 up in the formula bar, Format>Cells>Font.

Checkmark in "Superscript" box and OK
