Hello,

I've a Win2ksp4 box running AD integrated DNS.

The system is my DC as well as my DNS server.

Our internal domain name is tvc.net (a fictional DNS name that is only
an internal system).

I would like my users to be able to type in to a browser
www.niknet.co.uk and have that resolve to our webserver, that and to
connect to our development system of www.devnet.org and have those
addresses resolve.

I've tried to create a new A HOST record but I was not allowed to enter
an FQDN.

What am i doing wrong? I had assumed I could add a FQDN to the DNS (in
the same way you can with the HOSTS file) and
point that at our internal webserver. Am I wrong?

Many thanks,

Nick

Create two new Forward Lookup zones, one for each name, www.niknet.co.uk and
www.devnet.org, in each of these zones create one host record, leave the
name field blank, and give each the IP address of the web server.

Many thanks - that's worked for every PC on the LAN.
