Hi all!
I'm having a real mare today and I'm getting really
annoyed now....
Does anyone know why when I type in a date, excel insists
that I must be entering a formula and is automatically
putting an "=" in front of the date.
I usually just type for example: 27/5 and it would show 27-
May but today, it doesn't seem to matter what I do, it
won't let me type in a date unless I set it as text.
The cell is set to date format. I have even tried to type
over an existing cell which shows the date correctly (and
must therefore have the correct date format set) but it
still gives me 5-Jan (i.e. the result of 27/5 = 5.4
converted into date format!). I have tried typing in US
format, I have tried typing the full date: 27/5/04 but I
get the same results each time..
Please can someone help before I embarrass myself by doing
or shouting something stupid!
