if i enter a new contact it won't show up in my list of contacts unless there
is an e-mail address associated with it. How do I get all contacts to show
up even if a name only has a phone number.

Do you mean in your address book? If so, usually only contacts with
electronic addresses show up there since that's usually what the address
book is used for...

yes i mean my address book but i was just entering some contacts with phone
numbers and syncing it with my smartphone

not that i know of???

So you create new contacts and they aren't visible in the Contacts folder?
Do they disappear before or after you sync?

If they are never visible in contacts, restart outlook with the /cleanviews
switch

with outlook closed - verify in tasks manager - in the start menus start
search field type:
outlook.exe /cleanviews
and press enter.

First, the Address Book interface is just a view of your Contacts folder(s)
that shows those contacts with electronic addresses, specifically email and
fax. Second, never add entries using the Address Book interface. That's
not what it's for. Add them with the Contacts folder and your phone should
sync fine.
