'Enter' key

Big greazy

The enter key periodically stops functioning and can only
be remedied by restarting the pc. There are no error
messages, at some point it just does not respond at all
when pressed...regardless of application. Has anyone ever
heard of this situation or would anyone have a possible
cure? Thanks

Maybe I have the answer. At least it works for me.

With some older programs, they do not understand the alternate
'Enter' key that's located on the numeric pad. These two 'Enter'
keys have different scancodes.

When the problem occurs, try the other 'Enter' key to see if
this is the problem. If it works this way, then the program your
currently running is the problem.

Hope this IDs the problem.
 
I have the same problem too but no solution at that time.
My problem appears suddenly on about 02/16....
It's not a keyboard problem... another keyboard presents
the same symptom.
Alt-Enter or Ctl-Enter is working but no ENTER alone...
Neither main ENTER key nor ENTER key on numeric keypad is
working. Sometimes problem disappears without any action.
It seems somebody got the same problem on WindowsXP about
at the same period (second half of February ??)
