I have a Compaq Presario 4220 with Windows 95 OSR2 using IE & OE 5.0. Since
it did NOT have a RJ 45 port OR even a vacant PCI slot to add a RJ 45 port
(Ethernet Card), I bought a USB-Ethernet Adapter LE 9050A-USB from Black
Box. This is working very well and I am happy with it.

I have now bought a new Presario 1155 pre-loaded with Windows XP Home
Edition which has both Ethernet port as well as USB ports.

I have ONLY one broadband connection and one IP address from the local ISP
which I would like to use for BOTH PC's. The ISP has advised that I can
connect upto THREE PC's which will support good speed. They have recommended
connecting the two PC's using a 10 base-T Ethernet HUB, provided NetBEUI is
enabled for the file access and sharing.

I suppose that since I have only TWO PC's and will NOT be adding any more in
my SOHO,
a 2-port HUB should meet my requirements. What would you recommend?

Thanking you in advance.
Kind regards

You should have asked your question in the networking newsgroup.

I doubt if you'll find a two-port hub or router. Most are four ports. Router
is better than hub. I'm using a Linksys Cable/DSL Router model BEFSR41 and
I've seen them for sale in the Exchange. (Assuming your a GI as you imply by
using Captain.)

I COULD NOT FIND THE APPROPRIATE NEWSGROUP IN NETWORKING! BY THE WAY, I LIVE
IN INDIA AND I AM A RETIRED MERCHANT NAVY CAPTAIN!

Please tell me as to which is the correct Networking Group for future
