This may not be possible, but when I ran the full scand
and deleted a couple of baddies, MSAS wanted me to reboot
immediately to "keep the spyware from regenerating."

Any way to just quarantine or disable the baddies so that
I don't have to restart? Scans typically run in the
background, so I'm usually in the middle of something when
they finish, and it's not very convenient to have to
restart the system.

I don't think I've seen that message. I suspect that they need that action
in the present state of the program--I'm sure Microsoft realizes that this
isn't the most desirable way to do it from the standpoint of the user.

Suggestion rec'd and noted for the MSFT folks.
If MS feels that whatever is in there is likely to regenerate, I would
follow their prescriptive guidance so that you can kill the sucka off.
