now that i finally got this computer virus/trojan free I go into Windows
update and every update seems to fail. I cleared the history, temp files,
removed the log reran cccleaner again and still it would not work. I
researched how to fix this and stumbled on a post you did to another ms
newsgroup about dial-a-fix. Well I figured it cannot hurt and guess what it
fixed it. I followed your advice rebooted the computer and now all is well.
I burned a copy of this utility and put it in my bag of cd tricks for
clients so if I stumble across this again I now know what to do.

for those who are looking for this you can pick it up at
http://wiki.djlizard.net/Dial-a-fix

it is NOT for Vista- just in case you have it

you can go here for tips on how to use it

Saved me alot of work and frustration

Hi Engel

Sorry you`ve had to wait for awhile. Be pleased to see my response to Robin
above :-)

On a more serious note. Just spent some time reading your link which lead to
other links and so it goes. Great and very informative reading ... many
thanks for the HU.

BTW. Don`t you use memory sticks ? Burning onto a CD seems like an archaic
practice and very time consuming. Memory sticks are so easy to use `drag `n
drop technology` the capacity is awsome and you can buy for a few bucks.
........ won`t take up so much space in your goody bag ;)

Stu

memory sticks for what?
I have HDs that I turn into external HDs and take large data off that way.
Small data I use a usb flash drive.
I only burn to a CD the data to give a copy to the client when i am done if
they do not have an exteranl HD.
