Enforcing a standard wallpaper.

Boss wants to enforce a standardised wallpaper on all computers. (Mostly
XPSP2, but a few Win2000 SP4) - in the interests of a unified company
identity.

(I daresay this will not exactly boost his popularity-ratings, but who am I
to argue..)

Looked-into this, and thought of policies, but was surprised to see that
gpedit.msc doesn't seem to refer to wallpapers at all. Therefore it would
appear the only way is to use scripting, or else direct registry
manipulation.

Anyone encountered this requirement before?

Specify an Active Desktop wallpaper setting in Group Policy.
To do this, follow these steps:

1. Click Start, click Run, and then type gpedit.msc.
2. Under Local Computer Policy, expand User Configuration,
expand Administrative Templates, expand Desktop, and then click Active Desktop.
3. Double-click Active Desktop Wallpaper.
4. On the Setting tab, click Enabled, type the path to the desktop wallpaper that you
want to use, and then click OK.

That is a suggestion worth checking-out, though I've always thought the
Active Desktop tended to reduce the machine's stability by quite a large
margin. Admittedly I haven't tried using it recently.

Thanks.
