I am in a CIS101 class and my assignment was to convert
endnotes from footnotes and place on a separate page.
When I did it placed a short line above my first endnote.
I am running Office 2000, this course is supposed to be
for Office XP. #1 is there a difference between the
versions that would create the line. #2 is that line
supposed to be there. The instructor can't answer that
question. If it is not supposed to be there how can I get
rid of it, I have tried everything I know.

To get rid of the line ..
Change to normal view (View Menu then normal
Select View then Footnote
The pane should appear at the bottom of the apg
Select the Footnote separator optio
Delete the line by clicking in the area and deleting

Press the Close button

JLH told you how to fix it. Just FYI, if endnotes start right after the
main text, that line is usually there as a separator--if endnotes are
starting on a fresh page, it would be unnecessary.
