Endless disk thrashing

I have a win2K server. Some time after boot up (1 or 2 hours) the hard disks
thrash without stopping. Eventually the thing runs out of virtual memory.
Task manager just reports System Idle Processes as taking up most of the CPU
time and 100% memory usage.

Anybody got any clues?

Do you have an antivirus services on this to check for anything unusual?

Also, may want to install and run Adaware 6.0 and some sort of trojan hunter
too to eliminate those possibilities.

Don't know what it is, but the symptoms fit a memory leak from some app.
Reason -- not much CPU consumed, and after a few hours, with memory filling
up, you start to get paging to the swap file.

Try checking Task Manager tasks sorted by memory use.
