"End Program-Outlook.exe" window

When I try to turn off my new computer, a box pops up
that says "End Program-Outlook.Exe" and it just keeps
popping up even though outlook isn't even open anymore. I
can't even press the on/off button to turn off my
computer. What is causing this problem?

I have a similer problem when I play on line and then go
to shut down. "End Program-msmsge.exe". Any one?
 
Before turning off, check in Processes in Task Manager if
Outlook.exe is actually running. Some programs like
ActiveSync will startup Outlook in the background if you
have set synchronization of Contacts, Tasks, Appointments
etc. The same is true for Msmsgs.exe. It can be invoked if
Messenger virus check is enabled in Norton anti-virus or
if turned on in Outlook.
