Hello,

I wrote a document using Microsoft's Notepad in Windows. I was just curious,
how does Notepad denote the end of a file? Does it use a special character?
If so, which character?

Also, some miscellaneous things:

Is there a place on this website where I can ask which forum is most
appropriate to post a question? I mean is there an analog of

http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/whatforum/threads/

in the Microsoft Discussion Groups?

Also, is there a place on this website that describes what the topic of each
forum is? Sometimes it is hard to tell just from the name.

No EOF marker is needed - the file system remembers the length of files.

Not really. Ask questions at this NG for issues relating to XP.

No.

No. You will need to guess from the name of the NG.
