Hello,

I would like some advice... I want to secure a database
before sending it as an attachment in MS Outlook. How
does the encryption in Access really work? How do I
ensure that the intended recipient is the only one that
can open the database and use it?

Thanks,
Mandi

The encryption only prevents making sense of the file when using a hex
editor or similar. *Anyone* opening the file in Access will have access to
the data since Access will decrypt it when they do so.

Hi,

We are considering using Jet Engine as database for one of our
product. I hear that Access has got poor security and that password is
easily retrievable. Does the same apply to Jet Engine? How does
security and authentication work if my app uses Jet engine using
ODBC/OLE-DB interface. Our application will help user track some of
their financial transaction.
