Encrypting Word 2003

I want to encrypt a Word 2003 document. For the document in question, I go
to Properties, General tab, Advanced. But the "Encrypt contents to secure
data" option is greyed out/unavailable. Help, please.
 
Yes,it is because Encryption is only available in XP Professional edition

Limited users in XP Pro also cannot encrypt files
