I have recently secured a databse following all the steps
of the MS White paper and as far as security goes most
everything works as advertised. I have just a couple of
questions.
1.The database never got encrypted like the paper said it
would. Is that a red flag that I did something wrong? Like
I said everthing else seems to work just fine. I can't
break into it using the default mdw file.
2. The database I secured had linked tables to the BE. My
assumtion is that I just need to run the secrity wizard on
the BE (folowing the same steps as before) and use the mdw
I just created and I won't have to re-create groups or
users. Is it that easy?
3. The book says to give all users all rights to the lnked
tables in the front ends and restrict them where needed in
the back ends. Is that correct?
Thanks to those that answer these posts! Your help and
advice is greatly appreciated.
