Hi All,

I recently crashed my Windows XP laptop when I was playing
around with the installation of the Checkpoint VPN
SecuRemote Client software. The CP VPN client
uninstallation corrupted my general Windows XP Logon
scripts and now I am not able to logon to my Windows XP in
any methods.

I am planning to use my windows XP CD-ROM to repair my
Windows XP OS but I am worrying if I can recover my user
account encrypted files after doing that. Is there any
procedures that I need to pay attention and is there
any "ticks" that I can recover the data after repairing my
windows os with the XP CD-ROM?

Desperatedly need your help!

Thanks!
Cheers,
Anderson

Hi Waitak,

Thanks for your comment. But too bad the posted solution
doesn't work for me. I tried all the methods already and
the windows goes to blue screen and restart everytime
whatever option I chosen. I am sure the SecuRemote
software corrupted some file in the logon kernal and that
lead to the problem... if I don't do a CD-ROM repair.. I
am afraid there is no way for me to get the system back to
work...

Well.. but I am still worrying my account encrypted files.

Cheers,
Anderson

If you haven't made a backup copy of the encryption key, then you may
indeed lose access to your encrypted files if you run a repair. I can't
say for sure, but you are right to ask this!
