I am a student who has recently lost a flash drive without password
protection.

I am loooking for a freeware program that I can use to place a password
on my new LG flash drive (UBIV2GNMESP SILVER). The LG website has no
software that works and I cannot find any third party software. I have
tries TrueCrpyt and other offerings both Freeware and Shareware. What I
want is a program that will partition my flash drive into two halves, a
private half (with a password) and a public half (with the unlock
program). Some programs can encrypt a whole partition but all you need
to do is format it and use the flash drive. I am looking for something
that will deter people from stealing my flash drive and giving it back
because it is useless if they onyl have a 3MB drive instead of the full
2GB.

I have been looking for days and cannot find a suitable program. I know
that there are such programs beacause my previous flash drive came with
one but it will not work with my new drive. The LG software is useless.

Any suggestions would be good.

You will need to buy a flash drive that supports that "feature".

The flash drive does support the feature just that the software
(SecureCell) does not load on any of my computers.

Learnt my lesson about leaving USB Drives on computer desks.

Then you may wish to contact the vendor as to the program requirements
and possible remedy.

I have sent an email to LG three times already, no reply even if they
say that the reply will be shortly.

Then you may wish to consider a different software, or purchace a memory
stick that comes with the software.
