I must be doing something wrong? When I capture with MM2 via firewire, I am able to capture at a much higher bit rate than when I capture with Windows Media Encoder9. The same bit rate (as close as I can get it based on the Properties information) for WME9 would cause my computer to choke, sputter and drop frames

How do I find out the exact parameters of MM2's Capture From Video Device-Best Quality for Playback on My Computer? I'd like to be able to use these in WMP9 and tweak them some for specific situations

Capturing via firewire creates a temporary DV-AVI file, and then from that
one (in it's spare time if it has any) renders the WMV file of your
choice... so the basic computer capabilities need to support full DV
capture.

But MM2 doesn't report on things like dropped frames or other info during
the capture session.
