Hello,

I bought an enclosure (http://www.xpcgear.com/3slusb20exat.html) and
am trying to get it to work with my new 200GB Seagate hard drive.
When I plug in into the USB port on my computer (a new Pentium 4),
Windows XP (Service Pack 2) detects it as an unknown usb device. The
enclosure works fine (windows detects it has a storage device) when I
plug in my 20GB hard drive in it. I know that the 200GB hard drive
works (works when plugged into the IDE controler in my computer) and
the jumper is set for single/master.

Thanks,
Bob

I guess it's possible that the drive enclosure does not support hard
drives that large. What make and model is it?

You need to upgrade or replace the internal USB-IDE adapter that will
support 200+ GB IDE hard disk. I had the same unit as yours.
Unfortunately, it only supports up to 160GB.
