encarta atlas 1998 don't show measure tool

Hello:
I use from time to time Microsoft Encarta World Atlas 1998 (which is on one
CD).
Inside, using Tools --> Measure Tool, should show a small window indicating
the distance between origin (first click) and the current mouse pointer.
Recently, this option stop working, I don't have such small window, so
nothing indicating the distance.
I've uninstalled then re-installed the software, nothing changed.

Any help is appreciated.

SP3 has hosed some features of Adobe's InDesign CS2. I suspect it may
also affect other older programs. The one you're referring to is 11
years old, practically an eternity in computer years. Try running this
program in compatibility mode.
