For the last 5 years I have been using this A0 plotter (It's getting
old now - bought it in 1992!) with black ink only - it takes an HP
51626 cartridge or equivalent which is less than the Encad cartridge at
£40.

As far as I can remember I have previously used the HP51639 Cyan,
Magenta & Yellow cartridges for colour printing ( as they were much
less expensive than the Encad options which cost around £48 each).

Anyone know where I can still get these or an equivalent as HP have
made them obsolete.

Another option would be to buy a bulk ink system for this plotter -
anyone know where I can still get get one of these.

Thanks,

Kev

You can buy what re-used carts you can.

I once seen a 26 clone cart, that an ink cart fitted in a printheat
module (in fact, my Citizen ProjetII used one).

IMO, you should get a new printer, at least plan ahead for it.

I don't use the plotter in colour mode that much - most drawings are
now sent in PDF format but the odd customer still wants a paper plot -
black and white is no problem for most but I occasionally need colour
and spending £2K upwards for something I will maybe use once a year is
not an option but sourcing alternatives to the now obsolete HP51639
cartridges would be an option.
