I would like to allow the following hyperlink syntax...
http(s)://usernameassword@server/resource.ext
....which is no longer supported due to the MS04-004 Cumulative Security
Update for Internet Explorer (832894).
According to the instructions under the heading "How to disable the new
default behavior for handling user information in HTTP or HTTPS URLs" at
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=834489#top, you can disable this new
default behavior for handling user information in HTTP or HTTPS URLs by
manually creating iexplore.exe and explorer.exe DWORD values in the registry
keys.
However, is there a quick download (a la Kelly's Corner) that will disable
this default behavior without having to manually create iexplore.exe and
explorer.exe DWORD values in the registry keys? I'd rather stay out of the
registry!
