Help!!!!
I was trying to hide the build in administrator account in XP and I disabled
it through the Local Security Policy. Problem is that none of the other user
accounts where Administrative so now I can not do any of the administrative
stuff or even gain access to the Local Security Policy to enable it again.

SO HOW DO I GO ABOUT ENABLING IT AGAIN OR ACCESSING SYSTEM RESTORE????

You can access System Restore by rebooting the computer and pressing the F8 key between the BIOS POST screen and XP actually starting to load. You'll get a boot menu, choose Last Known Good Configuration. Of course, if you've rebooted since, this won't work, as the last known good state is newer than when you made the change.

I didn't think you COULD disable the built-in Administrator account unless
there was another Account with Admin rights in existence?

Thats what I thought but apparently you can, because all the other users on
my computer are power users. My other question is I have a HP computer that
allows me to do a non-destructive system recovery by tapping f10 on boot up.
Will that fix the problem or is there a faster simplier way.

Or you could go into SAFE MODE instead of choosing - Last Known Good
Configuration, without doing a System Restore. Log onto Administrator and
change what you did.

Hi

If you have disabled the builtin administrator account, booting into
Safe Mode will automatically enable it again (temporarily, for that
Safe Mode session).

Boot into Safe Mode (tap F8 repeatedly early in the computer/Windows
startup process)

If no user logon appears in Safe Mode where you can type in the
user account name "Administrator" (or click on it), press
Ctrl+Alt+Del twice.

CAN you disable the built-in Administrator unless you are doing it from
another Administrator account?

Hi

You can use whatever account (even the built-in Administrator itself)
to do this, as long as the account have local administrator rights.
