I am attempting to remote to a friends system to help with issues, i want to connect remotly. In the system properties it allows you to invite others to remote in, but it doesn't allow you to allow remote connection(as Win XP Pro does ) is there a way to do this?

No, XP Home can only act as a Remote Desktop client and *NOT* a host. An alternative is UltraVNC
which also includes an encryption plug-in, which I recommend if you use it over the public internet.

But, with that said, if you are also running either XP Pro or XP Home why not use Remote Assistance?
