enabling realtime security

I just got this new update on my spyware, and there was a
message on it that my realtime security measures were all
in-active. Howevr, when I attempted to activate them thre
was no response.
The hourglass came up for a second, and then nothing else
occured.
My system is a newly upgraded windows 2000.
How do I enable, or what is wrong?
ps. I have a kerio firewall.

You can repair Windows AntiSpyware using Add or Remove Programs in Control
Panel. Click Microsoft AntiSpyware and click Change. Click Next, and then
click Update.

Same problem with windows on one computer. On another
they can be activated. On the one with them active the
icon in the system tray behaves; on the the other there
can be as many as 7 icons in the system tray at one time
but they all go away when chased by the mouse.
