I am looking for a way to enable the quick launch toolbar
in windows xp by using a registry push or using a group
policy. I know that I can right click on the taskbar and
select this option to turn it on, but I have several
hundred desktops and this is not really a great way to
spend my time. So, if anyone has an answer, I would
appreciate it. I've tried difference files and no changes
are recorded, so I'm at a loss where the change is stored.

Hi Frank,

Enable QuickLaunch bar in one computer. Open Registry Editor and backup the
following location (with sub-keys) to a .reg file.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Discard
able\PostSetup\Component Categories\{00021492-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}

Now, run this .reg as a startup script to apply changes in your
workstations. BTW, the QuickLaunch enable/disable setting is stored here.
