Howdy,
I am running IE 6.0.2900.2180.and_so_on on Windows XP running under
virtual PC. I am trying to figure out how to enable java so that I can
run applets, such as those at www.bumblebeagle.org.
I am able to run the applets in question on other machines, including
Mac OSX and a PC running some other OS variation. But with my IE 6 the
applets fail with the message that indicates the browser is preventing
them from running. This is true for several different sites, so the
problem is not at bumblebeagle. IE 6 is showing me the rest of the web
page fine, so it's not a problem with virtual PC.
I have hunted through Tools:InternetOptions and have yet to discover
anything related to Java. I have tried the built in help but it
doesn't recognize the word "Java" (which is pretty doggone suprising
for a web browser).
Can anyone point me at how to enable it? Or if you don't think that's
the problem, give me some other ideas.
Is it possible that my version of XP didn't come with Java, and that I
need to download it? How can I tell?
Thanks in advance,
Frank B
