Hi,

I have 50 computers that need to have file and print sharing enabled, they
are running XP SP2. I have enabled the 'Allow file and print sharing
exception' setting in the Windows Firewall configuration in Group Policy
along with 'Allow remote administration' & 'Allow ICMP exception'. I can ping
the machines but I cannot go the the IPC$ shares to any of the machines.

How can I verify that the policy is indeed getting applied without having to
go to each machine and doing gpresult or gpupdate? Is there another place to
enable 'File and Print sharing' from via Group Policy? Please help.

Thanks,
Harpreet

Hi,

File and Print Sharing is enabled by default? Did you turn it off?

Cheers,

Hi,

The person who created the deployment image had disabled it and now they
want it enabled. Is there a way to enable it via group policy if not then
please do let me know so that I can tell them to incorporate that in their
next image build.

Thanks,
Harpreet
