Enabling "Fastwrite" on my graphics card

Another problem for ya here with my new comp build!

I cant find where to turn fastwrite on in the nvidia forceware drivers! its on in the bios but i read somewhere that it has to be active on the drivers aswell for it to work. Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

I'm using Nvidia Forceware 77.30 drivers if that helps, and the g card is a 6800GT and the mobo an Asus A8V Delux Rev.2

Any suggestions are better than none.

Check in all your BIOS options for "AGP Fastwrite" and make sure thats enabled. Can you see the option in your drivers, or is it greyed out?
 
Its definatly enabled in my bios, i cant find it anywhere in my drivers :(.


I've tried forceware versions: 66.93, 70.30, 70.50 and some DNA drivers. I really want to activate this!

More suggestions please.
 
Perhaps its just on by default with later drivers? Try a diagnostics program like SiSoft Sandra to check it?
 
theres no disadvantages to having Fast Writes off - basically theres no performance loss and the card is more overclockable.
 
Yeah i read alot of what you just said chris, sounds like good advice, not worth losing sleep over fast write ;).
