enabling design view

design view has been greyed out in an mdb file, so I can't
get into design view. How did that happen, and how can I
re-activate design view, so I can edit the forms? Help is
no help, and the books I have on Access 2000 don't seem to
have anything on this.

look in DesignView at the Allow Design Changes

If you expect an answer to a personal mail, add the word "manfred" to the first 10 lines in the message

Is it possible that you are actually looking at an mde file, not an mdb?
MDEs are a compiled form, which cannot be edited further.
