Is it possible to start one of the Windows screensavers from a shortcut and
have it automatically ask for a password when it's turned off.

My screensaver is set to automatically come on at 30 minute (Can't make it
less) and ask for a password. I would like a shortcut on my desktop that
will automatically start the 3D Text screensaver and lock the workstation so
I can have an automated message whenever I walk away from the PC.

Suggestions?

Try holding the Windows key and pressing L

This will "lock" your computer and require a password to
get back in. The screensaver will kick in after
inactivity.

I don't think the windows systems have that option. But
you can download a program that will lock your computer
at a keystroke. Here is a link to downloads.com with the
software: http://download.com.com/3000-2346-10175183.html?

There may be other similar programs out there. Just try
a search using keywords like "desktop," "lock,"
or "password," for example.
