Enable URL drag & drop?

Is it possible to enable drag & drop in Windows Mail message view.
I often receive newsletters with hyperlinks would like drop the URLs to IE
windows like I can do between IE windows.
 
I do not want to click the link because I want to control in which window
and tab the site opens. This might come from often having many windows open
on two 1600 res monitors.
And in my opinion draq & drop should work consistently across all apps.
