I am using Internet Explorer 6.029 and windows XP Home Version 2002 and
am trynig to get script debugging enabled in my browser.

The "Tools/Internet Options/Advanced" page has Disable Script Debugging
checked. When I try to enable it by un-checking that option, as soon
as I save and close that window, it gets reset to disabled.

I tried using regedit to modify the
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main - Disable
Script Debugger and set it to "no". But it immediately resets that to
yes.

There was a post last summer that said I should use regedit to delete
the "Machine Debug manager" under Run Services and restart the machine.
I can't find a "run Services" entry.

Can anyone offer some advice.

Thanks,
Doug

Hi Doug :-)

Try the information here and see if it helps:

If you have unchecked the Disable Script Debugging and it checks itself
later, go to msconfig and in startup Services disable 'Machine Debug
Manager'

Go to Start> Run and type in msconfig.
The entry is under the Startup tab:
Machine Debug Manager c:\windows\system\mdm.exe All Users
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunServices

also...

There is a step by step process here to edit the Registry. Scroll doen to

Hope this helps.

Disable Spybot Tea Timer, make the change & see if it "sticks".

PA Bear,

Thanks for the solution. It was not Spybot, but was Stopzilla. There
is an option to disable script debugging and when I eliminiated that, I
was back in business. Thanks again.
