Hi.
We recently moved our domain users from the administrators group to the
power users group on their WinXP Pro SP1 laptops. We are running AD on
a 2003 server domain.
We gave them the ability to enable/disable LAN connections via group
policies which they can do by double clicking a shortcut to the
connection or right-clicking on the systray icon.
The problem is that now the control panel shortcut to Network
Connections is not allowed to be run. Right-clicking the systray LAN
icons and selecting "open network connections" also returns a
permissions error message. I can't find anything in the GPO's that can
enable Network Connections for Power Users.
Modifying the security for ncpa.cpl does nothing.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Many thanks.
