enable macros to save labels

I'm using a new application (?) in Word from Avery Labels that allows me to create and use a data base for making labels. Unfortunately, just as I was finishing up my lengthy field entries, my computer slowed down and I clicked on another screen that popped up. I didn't understand what it was asking me for so I clicked "ignore." Apparently, that was my first major mistake. The popup asked me about enabling macros. Now, when I click "save" to try and save my work, I get an error message: "The macros in this project are disabled. Please refer to the online help or documentation of the host application to determine how to enable macros." Now comes the hard part. I have not been able to narrow my search properly or maybe I'm using the wrong search words. I keep coming up empty-handed.

Someone please tell me how I can fix this so I don't have to type it all over again.

Thanks.

Well, after more searching, I took a short cut. I copied and pasted the entire database into a new document and saved it there. Worked like a charm. Then I tried to close the label db-it asked me if I wanted to save the changes I had made. I clicked yes (mostly because "heck yeah!" wasn't an option) and lo-and-behold it saved it right where I wanted it in the first place. I must say, Copy/Paste is a God-send!

If anyone has a suggestion about how to turn on the macros so I can finish using the original file I made, I'd love to hear it! Until then, thanks anyways!

FWIW, you don't need an Avery add-in to do this, as Word's Mail Merge
Helper/Wizard is perfectly capable of creating a database that you can merge
to any of the hundreds of types of labels (Avery and other brands) listed in
the Envelopes and Labels dialog. Avery add-ins are notoriously buggy,
anyway.

Thanks for the advice Suzanne. I already knew about Word's Mail Merge power. I didn't know that I could use it to print labels, though. Thanks!
