enable imaging for windows

I have accessed a site that instructs me to "enable imaging for windows". Can someone please tell me how I do this in XP Home? Can I just 'enable' it and if so, how do I do it, or do I need to down load it? If I need to download, where from and how

Henry, go to Control Panel>AdminTools>Services. Scroll down to WIA and
Start the service. It's under Windows Audio. Just click on Start in the
upper left corner.
