I am not able to enable icalendar for internet users because the option is
greyed out. Using outlook 2003. menu item tools > calendar options
advanced..... The option to enable icalendar is not available why ????

Its normal because it will be Exchange 2003 that should be converting a
meeting request to iCal. I believe that box only becomes enabled for
POP3/IMAP accounts.

Thanks.. I was able to confirm the meeting request are being sent as
icalendar format. The Internet user accepts the meeting request. The response
is recieved
but the reply is not recognized by the outlook client as anything other than
a email message. Since the other client is also icalendar capable what is
required from outlook to be able to accept iCalendar requests.

I have to do some checking, but I think the response that Outlook gets is
going to depend on how the "response" is built and encoded by the other mail
client/server. For example, I can send a meeting request from Outlook
2003/Exchange 2003 across the internet to an Outlook 2003/Exchange 5.5 user
and they will get the meeting request. When that Outlook 2003/Exchange 5.5
user responds, Exchange 5.5 is dumb where it doesn't build the response
right for transmission back to the organizer.
