I have one potential client which don't have pocket pc !!!!!
(amazing isn't it /!)

in fact it's not really a client, but more like a partner which could sells
our product for us but would need to test it.

is there a way to distribute an emulator without VisualStudio ?

There is no real stand-alone emulator, but what you can do is install the
PocketPC (2003) SDK without Visual Studio being installed. You have to be
aware that you have to start the emulator you have to run emulator.exe
manually. The default installation path of emulator.exe is "C:\Program
Files\Windows CE Tools\Common\Platman\bin". You also need the PocketPC skin
to give the emulator a PPC look and feel. This skin can be found in
"C:\Program Files\Windows CE Tools\wce420\POCKET PC 2003\Emulation" for a
default installation. Start emulator.exe /help to find out how to properly
start it with the correct windows ce kernel (a bin file in the
.....\Emulation path) and appropriate skin.

thanks for that.
