have just bought a 256 mb memory board for an aged p.c.
and am having trouble with getting the system to accept
it. It's a 64 mb, 7.2 gb, Intel celeron machine. i have
checked that i have the right type of ram and it is
sdram. have tried to look for diagnosis myself in the
help section and im not quite sure but seem to think that
it has something to do with the EXPANDABLE MEMORY DEVICE
DRIVER. Also my machine originally came with windows 98
but i upgraded to windows xp professional.

On some of the older machines, the system bios will not
recognize the larger memory modules. The 128 meg modules
may be the limit. You can verify this by looking at the
system board manual if it is available.
