Empty Yahoo Deleted Items

i've setup filters to route all those 100kb virus emails
to my yahoo deleted items over the web. anyhow, my
mailbox fills up within like 6 hours. i need a program that
will empty my yahoo webmail deleted items.
 
I know, it's such a hassle, isn't it? Yahoo should have an option to
immediately delete instead of just sending to the Trash. :(

Supposedly, Yahoo is suppose to delete emails in the trash every so
often, but I have not figured out what their time schedule is.

There are several utilities that you can use to download email from Yahoo
and they also will empty the trash for you.

The one I use is called fetchyahoo. It is a perl script. I use it on
Solaris but it will run on other systems I believe if you install perl.

There is another program called yahoopops. There are a couple of other
programs similar to the above.

It's not fast enough for the SoBig virus anyway -- my Yahoo account
gets filled to its limit (6 MB) within 24 hours.

Side-note: I used to use YahooPOPs but it's been formatting my mail
without correct breaks lately (v0.5), so I had to ditch it. And it
didn't empty the trash from Yahoo either, from what I could see; it
just deleted them from the inbox to the trash. Or maybe I missed
an option?

I don't use yahoopops, but I have had no problems with fetchyahoo. I
don't know how well it works on non-Unix systems though.

Since I have an always-on system, I just have fetchyahoo collect email
for one once an hour. That may not work for people on dial-ups, etc.
